Luke Riley's Homepage

Hello and welcome to my website, thank you for taking an interest in my work.

I am a PhD student at the University of Liverpool's Computer Science Department, working on a project entitled "Agent Communications regarding Coalitions" under the supervisior of Dr. Katie Atkinson and Dr. Terry Payne. Before my PhD I graduated in 2010 with a 1st in Artificial Intelligence from the same university. My dissertation project "An Intelligent Chatbot" Involved creating a computer program that could interact with a human user via normal text language. It would learn by data mining the input and organising this data into an ontology arranged in a manner that reflects the internals and externals of a human mind.

Inbetween these two degree programs I spent the summer volunteering in India at the base of the Himalyans, teaching primary school children maths & I.T. (without hitting them!), working on a long term community centre construction project and dodging the occasional tiger as we worked at a mine.

Previously I've done a few random activities like work in a hotel in the french alps where I learned how to ski and some rep activities in a hotel in Newquay. For information on my educational awards please check out my achievements page.
